We'd like to introduce you to our 2026 Hero, Ryker Smith.

Ryker is a 4-year-old wrecking ball. He’s fearless, tough, and keeps everyone around him entertained and laughing daily. If Ryker wants to do something, he’s going to do it. Whether that means keeping up with his big brother on the baseball field, riding motorcycles, playing golf or launching himself off a chair without second thought…he’s always game.

On Mother’s Day, May 10, 2026 Ryker was diagnosed with B-ALL Leukemia. He began his fight at TX Children’s Medical Center on May 11, 2026 and has continued to barrel through treatment. Which is nothing but expected for this kid. He does not know how to stop.

And while the road ahead will be long, we are incredibly grateful for TCH Med Center, his oncologists, our friends and family who have become the village and support to keep us going through this battle. And if there’s one kid built for a fight this tough, it’s Ryker. 

Tenacity, resilience and persistence would be the core of Ryker also known as Cornbread.
